Happy Birthday to Kurt!

Happy 36th birthday Kurt!

We enjoyed dinner at Taggart's with the Roths.  Hattie thought the peacocks wandering around were awesome, unless we got too close.  She always kept an eye on them!

We ate the traditional German Chocolate Cake back at home!  Hattie picked out the Spider-Man decorations and requested Kurt's shirt choice.

Kurt is incredibly hard working and takes care of his family through thick and thin! His Masters is within sight (less than a year to go!) and we can't wait to see what adventures await our family once he's done.  We love Kurt!!!

Causse Reservoir

While Grandpa Sam was in town, we went up to Causse Reservoir...and had some boat trouble! So the trip didn't end up being too long, but it was still fun to be on the water.

Oars instead of an engine!

The girls called this a castle rock.

The girls loved swimming...just kidding!

Deer!

We also saw cliff jumpers and enjoyed cheering them on, especially Afton!

Everyday

Love my girl!

A sister in our ward fell and cut her head.  She had to get stitches and a couple days after it was her 80th birthday.  Carrie and I went to give her a little present and make sure she was doing ok!  I told Hattie what we were doing and she insisted on bringing a gift for the sister too.  So upon arriving she presented her pink crown, which Sister P. promptly placed on her head and wore for our entire visit!  I'm happy to report the sister was in good spirits and seemed to be doing well.  I love Hattie's compassion and I love that this sister made her feel good for thinking of others.  It's the little things!

She made a face out of her grapes.  Also- look at her beautiful, normal smile (in the above picture too)!  Usually she does the big, scary grin, which I love too, but it's nice to capture the real smile!

Someone sent me a dress in the mail!  I later learned it was from my mom :)  Thank you mom!!!

Hattie was invited to Charlotte's birthday party!  Happy birthday Char!  We love you!

G-Pa gave us his trampoline...it gets your feet nice and dirty!  I don't think Hattie cares too much.

Checking out the horses!

Waiting to start the race (I have to say "ready, set, go!")

Did you hear who's on her team?!  Gosh I love her!

Eating watermelon...with a raw noodle as a fork!  Where does she think this stuff up?

Hattie has loved taking pictures recently.  She took several after our many hours in the car this past weekend.  Here's Kurt,

and me.  She was made at Dad because his arm kept on being in the picture of me.  She eventually figured it out :)

And of course pictures of herself!

At the Children's Museum-
H: The baby's not doing good.
Me: Oh no!  What's wrong?!
H: He has a bad heart.
Me: Tears.

This girl has been through so much already in her short 3.5 years.

We scrubbed the trampoline and Hattie jumped on it afterwards in her swimsuit.  I'm sad to report it still makes your feet dirty.  Not sure what we're supposed to do!

And one more of our sweet boy.  He is so adorable!  I added the text for an Instagram post:

24 Ever!

We had an amazing time at the Mariner's Game!  We haven't been in years (since we lived in Washington) and it was so fun to go again.  Bonus: Ken Griffey Jr.'s number was retired so he was there and a large 24 was in the field.

Jeanette came with us too!  And we stayed at her house that night before leaving early in the morning.  Hattie took a long nap in the car so we even stayed until the end of the  game.  Maybe not too smart considering our long drive the next day, but oh so fun!  Especially since it was an awesome come from behind victory for the M's.  It was the most exciting game I've ever attended.  If you're not aware, the Mariners haven't been too great of a team in the past, so a lot of the games I've attended were 2-0 or 6-1 losses.  It's way more exciting when they win!  Around the 7th inning stretch, I noted to Kurt- everyone is sticking around!  Usually people start leaving at this point.  Guess that's what happens when the team might actually win.

It was also one of the most highly attended games I've ever been too.  The top section has been pretty sparse in seasons past.

Hattie loved it!  But I think part of it was because Jeanette was there.  She loves Jeanette!

Traditional ball-park selfie!  I was proud of myself for remembering to bring my Mariner's hat.

Another of the field- I loved the changing light!

Happy early birthday Kurt!  Wish we could go closer to your birthday, but it was a wonderful evening!  Also- Hattie's face in this picture!

Thanks for coming Jeanette!

Hattie cheering at the end of the game!

Family photo!

The Biehls

On Saturday, our last in Washington, we met up with the Biehl clan at Redmill.  Hattie loves hanging out with family!  And being the youngest (aside from Henry and Baby) on the Biehl side she gets plenty of attention...which she hates (jk- she LOVES it).

Then we went down the road to mini golf!  The kids were together in one group and the adults in another.  Made for a fun afternoon!

Ammon is wonderful big cousin!  Helped Hattie on all her long shots.

All by herself!

Wish we had more time to spend with everyone!

Rosario Beach

We headed out to Rosario the next day with Megan and the girls.  Grandpa Sam met up with us too.  I have the most beautiful home town!

It was surprisingly warm!

My little buddy!

Holding on to Kurt so they don't fall off the cliff.  Good idea girls!  I think Charlotte was the only one actually concerned :)  Wisdom comes with age!

Kurt and Hattie are on the dock!

Look!  I have a bunny tail!

And I couldn't help but think of Henry a bit:

You're always with us little man!

I asked everyone there to collect a rock or two that we could place on Henry's grave.  My new goal is to grab a rock for him wherever we travel.  Anyone else is welcome to do this as well!  You can send it to me and I'll make sure it gets on his grave (or place it there yourself).  Megan brought him one down from her and Joe's hike in the Tetons.  Means a lot to me when people remember him.
