Girls Camp!

I attended Girls Camp for the 3rd time!  Yes, I only went twice as a youth.  It was better as a leader, but it would be even greater if I could still sleep in my own bed- wooden boards just aren't that comfortable, even with a cushion!

Anyways- we went up to Heber Valley Camp which is excellent.  President Hinckley started building it during his presidency and they're continually adding more camps throughout the 3600 acres of property. Our site had three different campsites each with 4 cabins and a pavilion (a cabin fits 12 girls and 4 leaders).

It was beautiful!  Our first day we went on the lake, but not in the lake as there is a parasite:

The alligator!

We took a 3 mile hike and it was beautiful!  I love the trees.  Unfortunately, it was super hot.

 Most of the girls:

My YCL's told me I had to do something at our fireside on Tuesday.  First they dressed me up and later revealed I would be lip syncing to an undisclosed song in front of the entire camp.  Awesome!  I made a complete fool of myself, but I think that was the idea.

Campfire!

We saw a mama moose and her baby!  The baby was hard to see, but he's around there somewhere.  There were also TONS of deer who just sat around the edges of camp and didn't seem afraid of people at all.

There was also singing, games, crafts, certification, speakers, surprisingly good food, and lots of laughter.  I love my young women!  I'm glad I have the opportunity to be their leader.  I hope they all had a wonderful week at girls camp!

But I was still excited to get home (and take a shower!).

4th of July!

Hattie's second Independence Day was much more exciting than her first (which consisted of staying at home and doing nothing).  The night of the 3rd we broke out the sparklers and some other small fireworks.  Kurt did a sparkler dance and Hattie was quick to join in with him!

We got to meet up with Jeanette for lunch on the 4th (and her sister Sarah too!).  It was great to see her!

The we went to the Roth's (Gordon and Karen Roth's that is) for dinner and some fireworks.  Hattie loved riding in the wagon:

 Cupcakes!

Drinking out of a hose for the first time.  It was messy.

Driving- Hattie LOVES this car.

Most of the Roth grandkids plus Hattie.

Fireworks- Hattie did great.  She cried at the first loud one, but was fine after she knew what to expect.

Here she is watching!

It was a wonderful 4th of July.

Hill Aerospace Museum

Hattie has learned what airplanes are.  Whenever one flies over (sometimes when I don't even notice) she'll point up to it and say "aiplane"!  So we took a trip to the Hill Aerospace Museum a few weeks ago.

Checking out an airplane:

Not too sure about the ejector seat!

When she saw this one she said "rawr!"- her bear noise.

Checking out the planes outside!

 Panorama

We'll have to go again!  Especially since it's free :)
