Summer!

I'm so excited for the summer!  Once you graduate high school summer becomes a time to work and earn money for college.  Then you get married and you work year round so you can pay all your bills.  Well, I have finally accrued some time off and Kurt is his own boss so he can take time off whenever!  So we're taking 3 trips over the next few months.  3!!!  They're all to see family (and only a few days each), but that's basically all I want to do now that they live so far away.  Hooray for summer!

Nieces and Nephews

I love this picture!

They're definitely twins!

And I love this video!

My goodness.  Warms my heart!  And no, I don't know what Char is saying in the second half of her song :)

Happy Mother's Day!

I have one amazing mother, a wonderful mother-in-law, and three awesome grandmas!  There's a lot to be thankful for today!

Kurt was in charge of getting cards for his mom and two grandma's.  However....he may have forgotten.  We realize today during church, so it was too late to go buy some.  Instead I volunteered to make them cards!  I know they're cheesy, but I enjoy making them!  I get to use my paper cutting, glue sticking, drawing, creative juices.  So here they are:

Left to right they are for:  Gram, Oma, and Ma

Do you think they look alike?

Olivia's on the left and Charlotte's on the right!

I see Joe a bit more in Olivia and Megan a little more in Char-the-sheep.  But they definitely look like sisters!

The Weekend

On Saturday morning Kurt and I went to downtown Seattle for March of Dimes' 3 mile March for Babies.  Farmers (you know, the company Kurt works for) donates millions to the March of Dimes organization so we participated on a Farmers' team.  I got to meet Kurt's boss, Ron, and several co-workers, all of which are related to Ron!  So, there was Ron, his wife, his daughter and her husband, and another daughter all of whom work in the Farmers office with Kurt!  I didn't know it was such a family affair.  Ron seems like a wonderful boss who truly wants Kurt to do well and will do anything to help him be successful.  I'm so glad he's in Kurt's corner!

It was one of the slower walks of my life though :)

We also had a crepe party with the Hans and Winsteads!  A couple weeks ago at family dinner Sofia asked us, "So when am I coming over to your place?"  and then Kim added "Let's have crepes!"  So a date was decided upon and Sofia got to come see her aunt and uncle.  I'm glad she likes us.

While at our apartment Luke asked "Can I play with that?" and pointed to Sam's old baseball mitt.  "Sure!" I took it down for him.  "Is this new?"  "No, it's really old!  It was my step-dad's when he was a boy".  Pause, Luke looks at me questioningly.  "You have a step-dad?"  "Yes".  Pause...."Is he mean?"  (What?)  "No!  He's very nice!"

Oh man.  So funny.  I told his parents about it and all we could come up with is that he was thinking about evil step-mothers in so many books/movies/fairy tales.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Jeanette, Kurt, and I went to a Mexican restaurant last night to celebrate!

The best part?  When the waitress dropped a piece of paper on Jeanette and said "OH!  I'm sorry my lady!"

My lady?

It was funny.

Adios!

Welcome to the world!

My sister Megan and her husband Joe welcomed their second daughter into the world this week!

Meet Olivia!

She's beautiful!  Olivia was born on May 1st weighing in at a whopping 5lbs 13oz!  I 'met' her online today!  So calm and quiet (except for the diaper changing) and just adorable.  I can't wait to meet her in person.  Congratulations Roth family!
