Discovery

Kurt and I went on a brief walk through the woods yesterday.  There was a sign to a "playfield" so we followed it.  There are trees and bushes and ferns, etc all over (you know, like a normal trail) and then it opened up into a baseball field!  In the middle (ish) of a forest!  A baseball field with a playground behind the dugout completely surrounded by trees!  I told Kurt- this is like the Secret Garden minus the garden.  We walked further and there was a trail on the other side that led to a parking lot, but still.  It was crazy.

Ogden

I have a confession...I have fallen into the category of that person who only takes pictures of their nieces/nephews (why is there no all-encompassing word for that?) and doesn't seem to capture their sibling in any photos.  I apologize Megan and Joe.  There is no evidence that we actually saw you (almost).  Only that we saw your daughter.

But here are some pictures from the couple days we spend in Ogden :)

She kept handing me marbles and going "oooooohhhhh".  So cute!

Why draw on the sidewalk when you can draw on your face?

Kurt using his height to beat an 11 year old.

All aboard!  Climbing on the retired trains at the Ogden station.

I didn't know how huge trains are!  Just the wheel is taller than Kurt!  Apparently, my other sister Ashley and her husband Adam took their engagement photos here...they don't remember either!

Thanks again Megan and Joe!

Lobster Fest

While driving Lili to work yesterday I was informed that Lobster Fest is coming to the Anacortes Market (formerly Food Pavilion grocery store)!  Lili was way pumped- they have cooked and ALIVE lobsters.  I asked Lili if she's going to buy one- "Nnnoo.  I just hold them.  Their claws are tied shut."
Every week's an adventure!

Friends!

What's the good thing about friends getting married (other than your friend getting married)?  You get to see other friends!  I got to spend some time with the unforgetable Tori Doyle, the incorrigible Cassie Trost, and the phenomenal Jeanette Hooper.  Oh how I miss my first year of college!  And then Tori had to graduate and break up the band (Yoko).

Don't be fooled by her angelic face...

Look!  We're all part of the creepy picture!

Friends!

The gang!!!  Minus Sarah, plus Kurt :)

I hope we're all together again soon!

Sarah Hammond's married!

My dear, deer friend Sarah Hammond got married May 14th in the Salt Lake City temple.  I am so happy Kurt and I were able to go and be a part of her big day...and David's big day :)  Congratulations to you both!  I'm so excited for you!

Kurt and I had the privilege of helping out the photographer.  Kurt did most of it, as he's tall, but I held shoes, phones, and the occasional light.  It was fantastic to spend so much time with the bride and groom on their wedding day!  Kristina (she took the pictures at our wedding!) is an amazing photographer and it was great to catch up with her!  I took several of my own pictures :)

They're married!!!

The happy couple

Look!  Kurt's helping!

The tree

It was super windy.  I think Sarah looks like she's wearing a hoop skirt.

Helpers extraordinaire!

First M's game of the Season

At Safeco field

We ate the most delicious hot dogs in the world (from a stand outside the stadium).

We wore our Mariner's hats

Sam enjoyed his first M's game ever!

We ate a ton of peanuts...Kurt went for the big bag.

We learned some awesome facts about Ichiro:

I finally realized this sign doubles as a clock

Some weird guy sitting a few rows in front of us waved around paper clips.

And the Mariners Won!  Gooooooo M's!

Sunny Sunday

After Biehl family dinner yesterday, Kurt and I took a walk with the Han's.  It was only the second sunny day of the year and I was happy to enjoy it.  We didn't go too far since the kids get tired/bored and Kurt ended up carrying Sofia the whole way back.  Anyways, on our return trip a few boys, about 8 years old, were playing with Nerf guns in their front yard.  As we passed one jumped out from the bush he was not-so-well-concealed behind and shot me!  His friends said "Whao...wait, do you know her?". "No" the little boy replied.  "YOU CAN'T SHOOT INNOCENT CIVILIANS!  THAT'S NOT FAIR"  The other two were so upset.  It was hilarious.  I look forward to more sunny days!
