Zion National Park

We decided to have one last (very quick) trip as a family of three.  We drove down to Hurrican, UT after Kurt was done with work last Friday and stayed with his cousin.  We didn't even see them that night because they had to get up early for a soccer tournament!  We got to visit with them the next morning though- it was great to see the Hendersons!  We definitely want to go back down again when we have more time.

On Saturday we went to Zion National Park!  It was my first time ever in Southern Utah.  We were pleasantly surprised to discover that the park was free that weekend!  We did a short hike to the Lower Emerald Pools.

Hattie climbed on any rock she could!

The people down in the right corner show you how massive this rock wall is!

Climbing on another rock!  After walking underneath the waterfall our shoes got muddy- every time Hattie sees this picture she says "shoes!  Muddy!"

Hattie didn't want to be in our selfie!

Riding on Papa's shoulders:

This was from the car, but I loved the shadow of one cliff on another!

It was a great weekend!  Can't wait to go back when we have more time.

In the life of Hattie

More pictures from our everyday!

Putting her doll, Strawberry, to sleep using the blanket we made for her!

Enjoying some Nutella.

Such a cutie!  Here she is with a purse and backpack.

Stickers!

I loved her hair this day:

At the park!  Here's my shadow and I love Hattie's smirk.

Movie Time

Hattie went to her first movie in the theater!  We saw The Penguins of Madagascar.  It was ok.  We went to the dollar theater since we weren't sure how it would go (and didn't want to pay that much!).  She loved it!  Every time a preview ended she asked, "again?".  She got a little bored by the end, but I can't blame her...I started playing games on my phone :)  It was a successful outing so we're going to try and see Big Hero 6 this weekend.

Waiting to buy our tickets!

Adventures with the Roths

A couple weekends ago Hattie and I went hiking with the Roths!  Hiking with a 5 year old, two 2 year olds, and an infant is actually perfect for an 8 month prego lady.  We go at a slower pace than most.   These girls are too cute!  Hattie loves her cousins (and aunt and uncle!).

We also went to the Children's Museum recently.  The first stop (Hattie's choice) was the fire truck!

They also enjoyed the Mongolian hut.

Here she is dancing at "On Track for Reading".  They read a book, the illustrator was there (pretty cool!), and then sang some songs.

On a trip to the park Hattie climbed up there all by herself!  However, she wasn't sure how to get down.

Pregnancy Update

Here I am at 32 weeks!

But he's grown a ton since then!  I'm now 35 weeks and 1 day.  Here's a comparison to how big I was with Hattie...but the picture with Hattie is at 38 weeks, not 35.  I'm about the same size, so I think I and this baby will definitely be bigger this time around.

Other than feeling ginormous, all is well!  I just had an appointment on Thursday- fluid levels look good and he's head down so that's good too!  I will now have appointments every week.  Only 5 weeks to go!  But I'm hoping for only 4 more :)

Hattie thinks we should name Z 'Crocodile'

And here's a video of Z kicking from a week ago.  He's a mover and a shaker!

Antelope Island

We took an impromptu trip out to the State Park, Antelope Island.  It's west of Layton, in the Great Salt Lake.  Buffalo were brought there over a century ago and of course there are antelope!  We also saw birds and rabbits.

We were pleasantly surprised at how much Hattie loved the adventure.  She's often reserved in new places, but she took off running, leading the way once we found a trail to walk on.

The moon was out!

Waving to the birds!

Antelope- they weren't very close :)

While in the gift shop we overheard one of the workers tell another that the day we were there broke a record for number of visitors in January (it was January 31).  I guess that's what happens when you have a warm winter!

Roaring Blocks

Hattie is just the cutest.  And the best way to portray that is through video!  Here she is roaring like a lion:

And here are a few of her knocking over blocks with Papa.  Too cute!!!

Seahawks

What an awesome season!  We're big Seahawks fans around here; the playoffs were very exciting!  It was a bummer that we didn't win the Super Bowl, but we still enjoyed the journey and can't wait until next year!  Go Hawks!

This was probably my favorite moment of the Season- the game to get in to the Super Bowl.  We were down the entire game and the Hawks caught up it in the last few minutes by scoring a couple touchdowns, a point after, and a two point conversion.  It was VERY exciting.  The game ended in a tie and we went to overtime.  The Seahawks scored on our first possession.  Anyways- Kurt was holding a sleeping Hattie the entire time!  He was literally shaking from excitement and disbelief.  The poor guy.  I know he would have been standing and cheering if circumstances were different.  It was awesome.  Also, doesn't Hattie look so tiny in Kurt's arms?
