Photoshop Projects

I've done several Photoshop projects lately.  Mostly for my calling in YW.  I enjoy doing it, so thought I'd share.

The program and invitations for Young Women in Excellence:

This one wasn't done from scratch- I used someone else's template off the internet.

Spoiler alert: you may be getting this in the mail in the next couple weeks:

I also made a little newsletter to go in our Christmas cards.  This one is full page, but I'll print them off 4 to a page.  I love how they turned out!

A printable for a lesson I gave in YW:

And a non Photoshop project.  A good, old fashioned, pen and (colored) pencil drawing.  Kurt's Gram's Christmas present.  The Hummer Family Tree

Sorry for the glare, but here it is in the frame:

And finally, another Photoshop project.  I did this one a while ago for Kurt.  I call it his fancy resume :)  This isn't the finished product (there was still some editing to do), but this is almost exactly what it looked like.  Hoping to make him stand out!

I love love love that I'm able to create things in Photoshop. It's for way more than editing photos.  I should really take a class and then I'd be able to do much more!

It all started with Kurt's resume- I looked up cool ones online, but in order to use them you'd have to pay $40+.  For some that's no big deal, but for us it's not an expense we could spare.  So I decided to try it myself!  I'd done small projects in Photoshop, but I've tried more complicated things since then.  And it's fun!

25 Weeks

Tomorrow I will be 25 weeks along with Baby Z!  Only 15 weeks to go.  All is well- I have another appointment next week.  Kurt took my first belly picture- I was 23 weeks and 3 days:

I was surprised at how small by belly looked in the picture.  It seems huge to me :)  And it's only going to get bigger!

Can't wait to meet you Z!  (But don't come too early!)

First Snow!

The first snow of winter was just a dusting.  It's melted away and the weather has been quite warm (in the 50s).  We made sure to go play in it though!

Hattie loved it!  She scooped some up, put it in her mouth, and said "mmm!!! Ice!"  How right she is.

Happy 27th to me!

We didn't do too much for my birthday.  It was a school day for Kurt so he was gone from 7am-7:30pm.  Nevertheless, he went out of his way to make it a special day for me!  He brought me a fresh bagel in the morning before heading off to work and left class early to pick up an ice cream cake from Coldstone in Layton.  The Roth's came over for dessert.  It was a good day!

The next day we went out to dinner.  We decided to try a Thai restaurant.  I love Thai food, but we haven't been impressed with any Asian food we've tried in Utah thus far.  Luckily, the restaurant was wonderful!  The food was delicious and service great- they were super nice and accommodating to Hattie which I appreciate tons in a restaurant these days.  I can't wait to go back!  Happy birthday to me!

Trip to the playground- Hattie's wearing a new coat.  We went shopping and bought little Z's first clothes!

At the Thai restaurant.  We got all my favorites.

New earrings!

Thank you to all the family and friends who made me feel loved and appreciated!  You're the best!  Especially Kurt.  He's the most best :)

Running, stretching, and playing guitar

Hattie loves to run.  She runs circles around our house.  Literally- she does laps going from kitchen to family room, to dining room, back to the kitchen.  And she yells "I'm running!" as she goes.  Sometimes when talking to people on the phone she'll take them on a run with her.  She also likes to scare people:

Recently she started "stretching".

Hattie goes through phases (every couple weeks) when she really likes me to play the guitar.  Recently, she decided to try for herself!  Love it!

Halloween 2014

Hattie loves Halloween!  She dressed up as a monkey and LOVED going door to door.  She carried her own pail the whole time, walked the whole way, and said 'trick-or-treat' between the houses, but never at the door.  She would say 'thank you' though.  What a cutie!

Here we are!  Kurt and I wore our skeleton shirts again.

Hattie and Afton going to knock on a door!

The best picture I took of just Hattie in her monkey outfit.

We also went to our ward's Fall Festival.  Hattie was apprehensive at first, but after warming up she loved the bean bag toss and the ring toss.  She didn't want to wait her turn!

There was a photo area where kids could put on costumes and get their picture taken.  Hattie would have nothing to do with the costumes, but she did allow her picture to be taken- the photographer was Elise (who did our family photos), so they turned out super cute!

She is TOO CUTE!  Seriously.  She got a star painted on one hand a heart on other...it was a face painting booth, but again, she wouldn't have it.  After getting one hand done, she wanted the other painted too!

It was another happy Halloween for the Biehls!

Family Photos 2014

A few weeks ago we got our pictures taken by Elise of Elise Allred Photography (she's in our ward and awesome).  We just got them back today and I love them!  The last time we had professional photos taken was April 2013- when Hattie was 3 months old.  Now she's 21 months and quite changed.  We'll have to get pictures again after Baby Z arrives!

It's a boy!

Oh boy!  Baby Z is a boy!  Baby boy Biehl.  My oh my!  I'm so excited, but also a bit nervous.  I know it will be wonderful and awesome and I'll love this little fella as much as I do Hattie, but having a baby sure changes things.  Everything is put out of whack until you settle in and it becomes your new normal.  But I already know this little guy will have an amazing father and big sister! Thankfully, Hattie loves Lena- she always wants to give her kisses.  Hopefully this is a good omen for the future!  And I love being a mom.  It's the best job I've ever had by far!  I can't wait to meet our little boy in a few months!  Half way there!

Look at that cute face!

And everything looked good at the ultrasound.  He's measuring right on target and heart, brain, blood flow, hands, feet, diaphragm, and everything else they measured looks great.  The doctor came in and talked to us for all of two seconds to say it looked great and he has no concerns.  Sounds good to me!

Halloween Party

We went to a Halloween Party this past weekend.  I made us these skeleton outfits for the occasion:

Hattie was terrified for the first 30 minutes or so.  Someone was wearing a scary mask and she was so afraid.  She was clinging to me or Kurt and even started crying.  He felt awful and took his costume off (which was super nice) and Hattie eventually calmed down.  She enjoyed playing in the boats:

And participated in the ball fight between kids and dads.  She was definitely the youngest participant.

I know it's super blurry, but she's throwing a ball at me in this one.

Kurt and Hattie are pretty cute as skeletons!

I'm glad Hattie was able to calm down and enjoy herself (so we could have fun too!).  It was a good start to Halloween!
