1. 1st quiz section for The Roman Republic: We had two Roman funeral processions. One for a man and one for a woman. We carried in the "dead" bodies from the hallway, propped them up in a chair (as the Romans did), then read out eulogies we wrote which sang praises of the deceased. Our dead woman made wool- that was honorable, meaning she was a good housekeeper. And of course, no funeral is complete without funerary masks. I put a lot of effort into mine. (on a side note- did you know that for a woman to drink wine in Ancient Rome was as horrendous a crime as to commit adultery?!)
2. Later that day- Sarah and I were about to leave when Karen came upstairs and excliamed "um...there's a lake in my apartment!". The washer decided to leak and her entire bathroom and half her kitchen were under several inches of water. Crazy.
3. Even later that day- Karen, Brigham, Kurt and I went out to dinner at the Snappy Dragon. The food was great. So good I went back for a second helping. I scooped some chow mein onto my plate and found beneath the noodles a large, dead bug. In our food. In the food I had already eaten. Gross. We all stopped eating, Brigham snatched it up with his chopsticks and placed it in his napkin. When the waiter came by Brigham showed him the large insect and said "so can we just go?". And we were allowed to. So- bug in food = free meal.
