The Weekend

On Saturday morning Kurt and I went to downtown Seattle for March of Dimes' 3 mile March for Babies.  Farmers (you know, the company Kurt works for) donates millions to the March of Dimes organization so we participated on a Farmers' team.  I got to meet Kurt's boss, Ron, and several co-workers, all of which are related to Ron!  So, there was Ron, his wife, his daughter and her husband, and another daughter all of whom work in the Farmers office with Kurt!  I didn't know it was such a family affair.  Ron seems like a wonderful boss who truly wants Kurt to do well and will do anything to help him be successful.  I'm so glad he's in Kurt's corner!

It was one of the slower walks of my life though :)

We also had a crepe party with the Hans and Winsteads!  A couple weeks ago at family dinner Sofia asked us, "So when am I coming over to your place?"  and then Kim added "Let's have crepes!"  So a date was decided upon and Sofia got to come see her aunt and uncle.  I'm glad she likes us.

While at our apartment Luke asked "Can I play with that?" and pointed to Sam's old baseball mitt.  "Sure!" I took it down for him.  "Is this new?"  "No, it's really old!  It was my step-dad's when he was a boy".  Pause, Luke looks at me questioningly.  "You have a step-dad?"  "Yes".  Pause...."Is he mean?"  (What?)  "No!  He's very nice!"

Oh man.  So funny.  I told his parents about it and all we could come up with is that he was thinking about evil step-mothers in so many books/movies/fairy tales.
