YW
As the Young Women president of our ward I've attended some activities with the youth this summer. We made a trip up to the Brigham City temple to do baptisms for the dead. My girls are awesome!
And last weekend we had Youth Conference at Temple Square down in Salt Lake. It was great! I had a blast with the girls (seriously- they're the best!) as we learned about missionary work, sharing the gospel through things that you love, trusting and believing in Christ, and Joseph Smith and the early members of our church.
Tour of the Conference Center: looking up!
Looking down!
Illustrations of stories from the Book of Mormon- first time they've all been in the same place! Plus a volunteer :)
The temple
The girls!
The food was delicious! Especially dinner on the second day. Oh man!
Here's the room we ate in
And the view!
My calling may be a lot of work, but it sure is worth it.
Summertime
Not too much has happened lately. No trips, no events, just everyday life!
Hattie and I play at the elementary school across the street from our house once or twice a week. She's getting really good at climbing up steps and sliding down slides.
View from the top- our house! Can you see Kurt in the front yard?
Swimming! It takes her a while to warm up, but then she loves it!
Eating out! Hattie loves root beer and french fries.
I love summer storms because it cools way down. Also, the colors in the trunk of our tree really come out after it rains. I was surprised!
Jumping with cousins!
I got a watch! My first one since....forever?
And what we do most often- play at home! Hattie's a growing gal and figures out more and more things she can climb up on all the time.
Stirring!
Kisses!
Such a cutie :)
And that's about it! Like I said, nothing too exciting, but I love spending every day with my little lady!

Ugh
A sprinkler head wouldn't turn off yesterday. Our landlord's husband (who fixes stuff) was out of town. We tried to figure it out ourselves, but it wasn't working. Finally, with Joe's help we turned off the secondary water, and the sprinkler head.
But that wasn't all!
The basement flooded. Just a bit- most of the ground was wet. In the deepest areas the water was about 1 inch deep. The landlord came, along with some family members, to help Kurt clean up the mess. It took a few hours. I stayed upstairs with a very grumpy little lady. Fun was had by all!
Also, the swamp cooler flooded.
And now the hot water's not working.
But at least they hadn't put in carpet downstairs yet!

Animal Noises!
I always ask Hattie to do her animal noises for people, but she rarely does. I finally got most of them recorded! Such a smart little lady!
Hanging out!
Hattie saw Olivia hanging by her hands and wanted to give it a try. She did great! She's one strong little lady!
Hold on tight!
Leg lifts!
Letting go!
Back to Iona!
Mom and Clarence came out to Iona for a visit so we went up the weekend they were in town. It was a beautiful weekend so we spent most of our time in G&G's picturesque backyard.
Hattie was fascinated by the antics of Moppy and Great-Grandma!
Can't wait until we're all together again!
Friends?
I think Hattie and Olivia are finally starting to get along. At least, Olivia knocks Hattie over less and Hattie hits Olivia less. It's a start! See, look at them playing so nicely!
They're playing peek-a-boo in this one. Hattie's laughing hysterically :)
And all three girls love Kurt! Makes babysitting easy (for me) when they just want to play with him!
Dinosaur Park
The Dinosaur Park was ok. Hattie might like it better when she's older, but she also might be terrified. There were big fake dinosaur statues fighting and eating each other. Sheesh!
Not sure about the animatronics...
She did enjoy digging for fossils!
And LOVED the playground!
She didn't want to stop watching the ducks!

I think in the future we'll save a few bucks and go to a free playground and/or duck pond :)
Craft time
With Kurt gone from 7am-7pm Monday through Thursday there are days when I've had to become more creative!

Sometimes we play this fun game where I try and startle Hattie (she loves it!):
We have lots of fun together! Most of the time :) Sometimes we can't wait for Kurt to get home!
