Are you ready for some exciting news!?!!
Megan's having a baby! She's due in April. Roth baby #2.
Ready for some more exciting news?!!
Ashley's having 2 babies!!! They're identical twin girls due in March.
I love being an aunt! I'm so excited to get 2 more nieces and 1 more niece/nephew next year!!!
The only problem with this whole situation? Now my mom's expecting me and Kurt to have a baby. But, Ashley and Adam say they've got us covered this time around. Mom's getting 3 new grandchildren because of them! So I'm off the hook :) Thanks guys!
Kurt came up with another theory though- Ashley and Adam aren't covering for us, they're just competitive. They had to catch up with Megan and Joe!
Woohoo!!!

Modern Family
In one of the episodes last night Alex and Hailey tricked their younger brother into moving to the attic so they could have their own rooms.
Here's what I told Kurt: At least he had an entire attic! My sister (Megan) convinced me to live in the hall closet. And it wasn't even a walk in closet! Just the folding door kind. She hung up a blanket between the two open doors for me. I think the move only lasted a couple hours though...
Here's what Kurt told me after hearing my story: Well, in Portland, my bedroom was a closet.
They lived in Portland until he was 10. My first question: Was there a window? Yes. There was.

Sneak!
Kurt is not good at surprises. No offense. He gets too excited and just has to tell me what he's planning, what he bought, etc.
I left work today: went down the hall, to the lunch room, clock out, continue down the hall, to the elevator, press the down button, wait, enter elevator, go to the main floor, turn right, walk to my car, put key in lock.....what? There was a package of peach gum on the driver's seat of my car! It was thoroughly confusing for a few moments. Did someone break in to my car and leave me a surprise? That doesn't seem right. Does anyone else have a key to my car? YES! Kurt does! Kurt must've stopped here on his way home and left me a surprise! That is what happened and I was definitely surprised! The sneaky little sneak. Who knew he had it in him? It's totally cool if you do this more often, KGB. Thanks for the gum!

Last Day!
On my last day we took a drive into Idaho Falls to look at the falls and the temple.
This dog was having a great time!
This dog was having a great time!
I learned that my grandparents were married in the Idaho Falls temple in 1946 just a couple years after it had opened. I never knew they were married there! I asked grandma if there were any pictures of them at the temple on their wedding day. "No" she said "Not many people had cameras after the war". My how times have changed. My grandparents have seen and done some much in their 86 and 90 years of life and in their 65 years of marriage! I learned a lot from them this trip and I'm so happy for the example they've been in my life and for all the time I've been able to spend with them. Thanks for the vacation G&G! I hope I can come back soon!
P.S. Their yard is still as amazing today as it was when I was 5!

The East Idaho State Fair!
There was plenty of produce!
Including the real Mr. Potato head, a giant pumpkin, and a 37 pound cabbage! Sheesh!
And of course, fair food!
We had Tiger Ears, which are actually elephant ears, but it makes no sense because a tiger has small ears, unlike an elephant. And we had burgers at Wimpy's! The creater of this Idaho fair staple is from Iona. He doesn't spend all day at the fair anymore, but we met his daughter and several grandchildren who were running the show. And the burgers were pretty good! We didn't eat any square ice cream, but I've had it many times before and it's still a novelty!
So let your tail go swish!
Mmmm cake! I was very impressed.
Maybe not so impressed with this one...
We had a great time! Thanks for taking me G&G!
I asked grandpa if he wanted to put his face in the boy pioneer cut out- his response was "what for?" I took that as a no :)
Happy Birthday Grandma!

The Hills!
Megan, Joe, Charlotte, Grandma, Grandpa, Kurt, and I went up to the hills for a hot dog and marshmallow roast! We've been going to the same place ever since I can remember. I'm glad Kurt was able to experience it :) We even hiked up Dino's 'tail'. I don't remember it being that steep...coming down was a bit unnerving.
Grandma and Char:
The whole gang!
The boys built a good fire! Kurt didn't know the '1 match method' actually worked. He was a Seattle boy scout- wet wood doesn't ignite so easily.
On top of Dino (hey Kurt!)
Turbines! They're everywhere now.

Leaving Iona
It's my last night at my grandparents' house in Iona, ID. I'm so sad to be leaving. It's been such a wonderful trip and the first time I've ever visited my grandparents 1 on 1. Make that 1 on 2. We've been to the fair, went on a wiener roast, played lots of cards, celebrated Grandma's birthday, visited friends and family, and eaten great food! There's nothing like cantaloupe, corn, strawberries, and potatoes straight from the garden! I'm glad Kurt was able to see where I spent my summers and it was so wonderful seeing Megan, Joe, Charlotte, Sarah, and David. I've gotten to know G&G even better on this trip. Especially Grandma. I think she really enjoyed being able to share her stories with someone and I was happy to listen. We had a great time! I've never lived in Iona, but it's always felt like home. I think my sisters and cousins would agree! I love my grandparents and I love this town. It's hard to leave them! At least I have a wonderful husband to come home to :) I can't wait to see him!
I love you Grandma and Grandpa! Thanks for the great vacation- I hope I can come back soon.

So instead of being productive and packing for our trip tomorrow, Kurt and I decided to play some Settlers...look how the dice landed! What are the chances?
