I may have over estimated how long it would take us to get to Piper's Barn in Moses Lake...we arrived almost an hour early! The farm we kind of in the middle of nowhere (imagine that) so there wasn't really anywhere to go and wait. So, we drove up the road a half mile or so, pulled over, and took some pictures! It was a beautiful day and I was so impressed with the green fields and blue sky. Also, I'm going to do something out of the ordinary and post lots of pictures of me! I did this more in the past, but now I feel weird about it. Just FYI.
Top left: I'm twirling! FYI :)

Emily's wedding!
Yesterday we went to our friend Emily's wedding! It was wonderful! It was held at Piper's Barn in Moses Lake, WA (where Emily is from):
Here are some pictures of Emily and Jeff getting hitched (not the best pictures, but you get the idea):
The food was delicious (no picture though). I was shocked to find out that Emily's mom made all the food herself and the chocolates that were given out as favors (apparently she has a chocolate business with a friend)! Talking about Emily's parents- they crack me up! Kurt and Emily were in the same group of friends back in our U2 days. Kurt has gone with said group to Emily's family's farm a few weekends over the years. So Emily's parents, Brenda and Ken, know Kurt some. Anyways, now that we have the back story, when Brenda saw Kurt she gave him a big hug! And then pronounced to the person next to her the she loves Kurt and he's basically another son! We ran into Ken (Emily's dad) a few minutes later and he politely shook our hands and said 'thanks for coming'. Later, while eating dinner, Ken came over to us again and said, "I remember you now! I didn't before so I just wanted to say hello again". Too funny.
We are so happy and excited for Emily and Jeff! I wish them the best and a happy marriage!

We also got to catch up with Chris, Suzy, and Megan Walkster (as well as Uncle Dale and Auntie Ann) who I haven't seen in years! I think we were having a better time than any other table :) I'm so glad we were able to be there.

Happy Tuesday!
I came home today to find a wrapped present on the counter! Even better- it had my name on it!
Kurt bought me a tortilla press!
I make tortillas sometimes and rolling them out takes forever. But really, I think he bought it so that I make tortillas more often :)
Thanks Kurt! You're the best!

Warning: this is a rant!
I hate loud music. Especially when I'm trying to sleep. I don't even like quiet music when I'm trying to sleep.
Over the past few months our apartment complex has renovated the pool, gym, and front desk areas. They all re-opened recently. Since then I've occasionally heard this really annoying high pitched, techno-ish music playing late at night when I'm trying to fall asleep. I tried to ignore it at first, assuming that someone new moved in and maybe a next door neighbor (it sounded like it might be coming from another building in our complex) might complain and it would stop. Some nights I heard it, some I didn't. But then one night it was WAY louder than usual. So, Kurt and I went outside to investigate. It was coming from the pool area....did someone have a pool party and set up speakers and forget to take them down? That's all I could think of. But, no. Part of the renovations added a sound system to the pool area. The music was blaring from speakers that looked like rocks. The only way to turn it off? At the front desk. Believe it or not no one works there at 12:30am. I called the front desk and left a message while Kurt called the maintenance line who informed him they couldn't do anything.
They were very apologetic about this incident, but it's happened several times since then! I've decided to call and leave an angry (well, more like upset and holding back tears because that's what happens when I'm angry and tired in the wee hours of the morning) message every time it happens. It's driving me bananas. The music was left on last night (Saturday) which means it will continue playing until someone turns it off...the office is closed until Tuesday! So, here's to my second night in a row (of 3) with the annoying pool music playing. Awesome.
I honestly don't know why they need to turn the music on every day...we live in a cold and rainy place, it's not like people sit out there. And if they do wouldn't they rather listen to their iPods than the annoying techno? Just saying. Goodnight! I hope yours is quieter than mine.
P.S. We pulled out the box fan and it's noisy enough to drown out most of the music. Thank goodness! The whole thing still drives me crazy though!

Washington Park
I went up to Anacortes today to do Ani's meals and laundry while Mom's out of town. I got most of the food ready beforehand, so I didn't have much to do other than laundry upon arrival. While the clothes were in the dryer I decided to go to Washington Park. I can't believe I grew up in such a beautiful place! It was a bit overcast and rainy, but seriously. How could amazing views, seeing ships at the end of every road (because it's an island! All road end at the water eventually), and being surrounded by trees ever become commonplace? Well, after 12 years they did. I never plan on living in Anacortes again, but I sure do love going back to visit! I appreciate it so much more now that I'm not there.
Here are some pictures from my phone...not the best quality, but it gives you an idea :)

Redecorating
I'm turning in to my mother! Nothing stays in it's place for too long around here. Well, nothing that can be easily moved anyways :)
I haven't been happy with the Paris pictures over our bed, so I finally did something about it today! (It's so nice not working on Mondays.) Really, I want to get a headboard, but money needs to go elsewhere at the moment. I moved the flower paintings in the hall (which were in my bathroom growing up) over the bed.
But I couldn't have a bare hallway! So up the Paris pictures went:
I think I like it- we shall see.

Happy Easter!
Kurt and I decorated some eggs!
Some turned out better than others, but we had fun! I also baked a cake and made sorbet for dessert tomorrow. I tried making the frosting twice and it didn't turn out either time. How does Martha do it? We also ran out of sugar, and I ran out of patience, so Kurt make some powdered sugar icing :) Hopefully it tastes ok! The reason for the season isn't cake though, right? And hey, if it tastes awful then I won't be put in charge of dessert ever again!

Sunday Dinner
Sofia: "Will you come play with me?"
Kurt: "What do you want to play?"
Sofia: "I don't know"
Kurt: "How about......run around Kurt?"
Sofia: "What's that?"
Kurt: "It's where I stand in the middle and you run in circles around me"
Sofia: "Oh. Ok!"
Not sure if Kurt thought that one through. Because soon enough it was his turn to run circles around Sofia :)
