I went back to work a couple weeks ago! I wasn't exactly excited. I didn't dread going back to work, but rather leaving Hattie.
Guess what? I survived!
I think it was easier for Hattie- she's done GREAT at daycare. Torrie (she runs the daycare out of her house) loves her and so do the other kids. Hattie's the only baby and her cousin William is there with her too. Apparently he's been very protective of Hattie which is adorable. She's had no problem taking a bottle. And now she gets to spend a day with Moppy (my mom) once a week too! I still wish it was me taking care of her, but it's ok. I'm glad she's in good hands- she's an amazing little lady!
Work's been fine too! The first day was a little overwhelming. I had 4 months worth of emails to sort through and plenty of problems to work out. I almost cried the first time someone asked me how I was doing, but held it together better the rest of the day. It's getting easier week by week. It also helps that everyone seems excited to have me back!

4 months
Has it been four months already? Well, the word for this past month is strength! Her arms, legs, torso, neck, voice, everything is so much stronger! She's starting to 'stand'. When I hold her in my lap she likes it when I hold her up and let her put some weight on her little legs. She has a strong grip! Several of my hairs have been pulled out now. She even tries to grab on to Kurt's beard, but it's a little short. Hattie's a rolling champ- we no longer have to force her to do tummy time. She'll roll on to her tummy all by herself. Sometimes she gets upset and I tell her to roll over to her back- she forgets she can do that too :) Hattie enjoys peek-a-boo, looking in the mirror, and taking rides in the stroller. She doesn't fall asleep in the stroller but watches everything around her. She touches my face! Especially when I'm putting her down to sleep. She'll reach up and touch my cheek or lips, often putting her fingers in my mouth. It's adorable. Firsts this month include finding her feet, going to the beach, going to the zoo, riding a ferris wheel, and going to downtown Seattle. She also met the Roths for the first time!
I think these pictures show she's a little mover! It was hard to get non blurry pictures. And I'm sure it's just going to get harder!

Mother's Day
I had my first Mother's Day as a mom! It was very exciting. I got breakfast in bed with made-from-scratch pancakes, bacon, and orange juice. Kurt and Hattie gave me a framed picture (from our family photo session) to put on my desk at work and some chocolates. I didn't have to do dishes or clean anything either. It was wonderful!
I like being on the receiving end of Mother's day, but it's a lot more work the rest of the year!
Here we are on our first Mother's Day together:
Hattie likes to grab my hair these days. She has a good grip too- sometimes she pulls out a few strands!
I love the cards Hattie and I made for her grandmas and great-grandmas! Her foot prints are supposed to be hearts, but it's hard to get a 4-month-old to cooperate. Happy Mother's Day Oma (Kurt's mom), Gram (Kurt's maternal grandma), Uhr Oma (Kurt's paternal grandma), Moppy (my mom), and Great-Grandma (my grandma)!
Hattie had red feet for a couple days though :)

Binky
Hattie was playing in her jungle gym and had a pacifier in her mouth. I left the room for a few minutes and came back to find her with it stuck to her face!
I laughed out loud!
But then felt bad when I took it off to find a bright red circle on her cheek. Whoops!

Ferris Wheel
We rode the new ferris wheel on the waterfront in Seattle! It's been open for just shy of a year. We went on a Monday morning and there was absolutely no line.
Hattie looks excited :)
Charlotte loved it so much she went for a second spin with Megan! There they are!
The rest of us watched them go by:

It was pretty cool! Glad we went!
My camera died so here's the only shot I have from a distance (taken with my phone). The clouds cleared up and it ended up being a beautiful day!

Zoo!
The Roths were in town this past week! It was so great to see my sister and her family. Charlotte is still adorable and Olivia has grown so much! Their vacation coincided with her first birthday! I kept on forgetting the camera, but I remembered it for our trip to the zoo! And I took a million pictures to compensate. We'll have to go again when Hattie's older, but I think she appreciated being in a new environment.
We're pretty sure the kangaroo on the right had a joey in her pouch.
Cousins!
Charlotte and Hattie were worn out by the end! Well, Charlotte slept for almost half the time we were there :)
But Olivia was wide awake the whole time! She was staring and pointing at the animals and enjoyed it the most out of the 3 kids. It was adorable!
There were 4 lion cubs out and about with their mama. It was too cute! In the bottom left picture the cubs are looking at a plane flying overhead.
I loved this little fox!
Isn't she precious?
All three of us are smiling!
Family Photos (round 2)
We received our CD full of wonderful family photos last week! I can't resist putting more up on the blog. I love my little family!
